From childhood sketches of cartoon characters to a series of familial multi-generational female nudes, to work experimenting with the spaces between people, to self-portraits… figures have for a long time been a core part of my visual language. The way I set figures in relation to each other express feelings about how we come closer or drift apart, through intimacy and distance. The spaces between us convey the energy that is felt or absent between people. Boundaries can blur between siblings, spouses, parents, and friends.
